Trying to get the word out on the importance of Pure Desire worldwide has become next to impossible for just one person. Ted has been so busy doing Pure Desire conferences, Sexy Christian seminars, writing, earning his certification as a sexual addiction therapist, teaching and myriad other tasks that it has become necessary to start training other leaders to carry some of the burden. And so, PDMI University is born!
This is a four-day intensive training program designed to multiply PDMI and will be training Directors for the Foursquare Districts and other leaders who want to participate in Pure Desire and set up the ministry in their churches. It also will be provide intensive training to those who have already started the ministry.
The schedule includes such topics as the neurochemistry of addiction, theology of healing, The Genesis Process and the proper use of polygraph testing. In addition, there will be an FMO group demonstration and Diane will speak on the realities of helping the wives of those being healed of sexual addictions.
The first one of these PDMI Universities will be held at Ted's home church, East Hill, in Gresham, Oregon this coming summer and is already full with 40 in attendance. The next one will be from January 16-19 at Foursquare's CrossPointe Ministry Center in Christiansburg, Virginia. Several people from the Netherlands and Central America will attend this one, giving a truly international flavor to the event.
The University will be held at least two times per year for the present and possibly grow to quarterly in the future. Check out the Pure Desire website for further information (http://www.puredesire.org/conferences).

During the first several years of our marriage, we battled through my husband's addictions to alcohol and cocaine which didn't make for a very solid home life for our two children born during that time. He finally agreed to enter rehab and never drank or used drugs again but instead began a two-year-long affair with a woman who had become my best friend.
We moved to Oregon in 1991 and things were looking good on the outside but there was still something missing from our marriage. The intimacy was gone and the internet and pornography had entered our lives. Over the next few years I tried to shrug it off, telling myself that was just what men did but by 2003 I was ready to leave him. I had seen him through several addictions already and was just not ready to deal with another one.
Somehow we came across Dr. Robert's book, Pure Desire, and that led us to East Hill Church where we attended a service in June. We were not Christians when we went to church but the messages over the next two weeks directly addressed our brokenness. We sobbed together as we raised our hands and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord.
Even though my husband started attending an accountability group, it took him quite some time before he admitted to me that he had had three affairs during the first fifteen years of our marriage. I couldn't believe I had been lied to for fifteen years. We asked Pastors Ted and Diane to pray for our marriage and began the rebuilding process. A polygraph and continued support from the Pure Desire Ministry allowed the foundation of truth and trust to begin.
Today my husband is a leader of a For Men Only group and I am heavily involved in Betrayed Heart and Women's Ministries. I am positive that without Pure Desire entering our lives, our marriage was on the pathway to total destruction and we would be divorced today.

| Pastoral Moral Failure |

The Foursquare Church has asked Ted to write a policy that the denomination can follow in the event a pastor suffers moral failure. As evidenced by the events of recent years, most denominations tend to either shoot, shuffle or bury the pastor who falls in this area. They don't realize that not only is the pastor lost, but their families are devastated and the local church is forever wounded. This document will be filled with proven, theologically-sound and clinically effective healing processes that will help the denomination know what to do when one of their pastors is suffering in this way.
The PDMI board has begun to pray that there will be funding to help pastors in various denominations who have fallen. Helping them does not just pay for the clinical process but supplies income for them for a year. Most pastors are caught in a double bind; they are in bondage to their own prison and yet can't afford to seek the help they need (or to sustain their families while they go through the healing process). Please pray with us that not only will this policy be approved and enacted, but also that we will be able to develop a national ministry that will help pastors come clean.

| A New Pure Desire |

Did you know that a revised edition of Ted's very popular book, Pure Desire has just been released? It includes a brand new chapter by Pastor Harry Flanagan called "Fitting All the Pieces Together" which takes all the information in the first seven chapters and shows how to use them in a small group and/or church setting.
Also there is a new forward by Stephen Arterburn, the best-selling author of Every Man's Battle. In his statement, Stephen says, "I don't know of any plague to ever reach into homes and families all over the world and create as much damage or heartache than the struggle with lust, affair, pornography, perversion and sexual addiction. | Sexy Christians Seminar Participant Comments |

Recently, Ted and Diane held a "Sexy Christians" Seminar at a large church in downtown Portland. With attendance populated only by word of mouth, almost 300 people came, with 75 of them just showing up on the opening night!
Here are some of the comments from a few of the attendees:
"When I talked to our 29-year-old son and told him we were at the Sexy Christians conference, he replied, 'That's more than I need to know, Mom.' Does he really think I don't have sex anymore?"
Under the question, "If you were to recommend this seminar to a friend, what would you say to encourage them to come?" the following answers were turned in:
