Nick, this is so good. I needed this truth today.

I have to admit that I was somewhat skeptical that sexual brokenness is not about sex. But this podcast helped share a lot of good points on the matter. Some of my key takeaways were:
1.) Its easy to go to the fruit of the problem instead of the root of the problem.
2.) We’ve linked our sexuality to our identity – both sex and sex appeal = value or self-worth
3.) You break habits “by creating new ones”. That is why consistency is so important in small groups. You do it over and over again to create new health.
4.) If we want to change our story, we need to be able to take a look at where the story began – including childhood stuff, teenage years.
5.) When we go deep within ourselves and sex-explore and self-care, it helps us address more than our sexual brokenness, it has the potential to help us address the brokenness in all areas of our life – the way we isolate, the way we hurt people – its all connected. This is how the Holy Spirit can help shape/change all of us – not just our sexual behavior.
