What We Do
We exist to provide a safe place to find hope and healing from the effects of sexual brokenness.
Create transformation in the Church by equipping and training churches to develop healing ministries for men and women affected by sexual brokenness.
FOCUSED ON THE LOCAL CHURCH
We believe the Church is the hope of the world, and the battle for sexual purity must be won in and through the Church.
We stand firmly on the timeless, perfect Word of God as the foundation of true healing and change.
We incorporate the best of applied clinical strategies and brain science, which affirm and illuminate God’s design of humanity.
A HOLISTIC APPROACH
For true healing to occur, a person must experience change in their head (thinking), heart (core beliefs), and hands (behaviors).
A COMPREHENSIVE STRATEGY
Sexual brokenness is not only a man’s problem. It’s a people problem. It does not discriminate based on age, gender, or nationality. Pure Desire creates group resources for men, women, and students, whether they are the one struggling or the one impacted by the struggle of another.
True change is not possible in isolation. Therefore, we promote safe, committed, and confidential groups that are foundational to the healing process. These groups are led by lay leaders qualified through experience.
Being real with God and others is the pathway out of secrecy and shame. We strive to be vulnerable with one another and with those we minister to and serve.
The Pure Desire program addresses the evidence-based understanding that sexual brokenness and the associated struggles are a family systems issue, not just an individual problem.
For this reason, healing needs to happen for the entire family. The person struggling needs healing, as well as the spouse who has experienced betrayal.
Our approach is practical and applicable to daily life. We offer a library of resources to guide men and women through the healing process.
Pure Desire groups support men and women in their recovery by providing a safe, grace-filled place to process their life story. We find that healing happens best when we are with a community of people who are on this journey with us.
Both sexual addiction and betrayal isolate and separate us from one another. But in community, we find hope and healing as we learn to tell our whole story and recognize the impact it has had on our behaviors.
Pure Desire offers a clinical counseling practice that is focused on the treatment of unhealthy and relationally harmful sexual behavior. Each clinical team is PSAP or CSAT certified through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and has years of pastoral ministry experience. Our clinical program is based on a biblical and theological perspective.
Pure Desire partners with churches/hosts to create events that help men and women gain a new, deeper understanding of the factors that contribute to sexual addiction. Based on a solid, biblical foundation, our events establish the need for a culture of grace, explore the role the brain plays in addictive behavior, and how we practically find healing through an intentional plan of recovery.
A Pure Desire event presents:
- a profound and effective message of hope,
- equips men and women to lead others in their fight for sexual freedom,
- offers training on the factors that perpetuate addictive behavior, and
- provides the necessary tools to develop a healing/recovery ministry in their church and community.
