About Episode 309
Confidentiality is critically important in the group setting. So is protecting victims and vulnerable populations through mandatory reporting. On today’s episode, we talk with Rich Moore about how to strike a balance between confidentiality and mandated reporting, how to proactively protect the group, and the process of reporting if and when necessary. Finally, we explored the positive outcomes that mandated reporting can have on the people involved.

Hi Friends, I have a question for you. I had some big T Trauma in my life 20 years ago. It was not dealt with. I did one year with pure desire and the exhaustion was dealt. It was quite severe. I also managed to give up looking at websites and material but not the relapse. What advice would you give to someone who is not able to date but also does not want to relapse. I am just about to start year 2 and am falling prey to relapsing on my computer.
Hi Peter,
This is very real situation that many find themselves in. Our primary encouragement with these types of experiences is to explore clinical counseling. Specifically, our Pure Desire Clinical Program. If you’d like to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with one of our clinicians or jump into the program, you can find that info here: https://puredesire.org/counseling/
Another great podcast. Tough stuff. I was going to email offline, but near the end you meantioned a therapist as being someone to go to, so I thought it might be better to ask here so others can benefit too. In my groups when there might’ve been a mandatory reporting issue, the guys already had a counselor and had already told them. I left it there because I figured their counselor woul be better equipped to handle that anyway. Is this the right course of action.
Thanks,
Brian
